Drop is an object that fulfills 100% with its functionality but simultaneously it allows to discover and play with the wine beyond to drink.
Annabella Hevesi before start to definining and planning the project had clear that she wants to impress emotionally. To give a new meaning with which to the object as something more than an object; an experience, a ritual, but above all, a surprise.
A corkscrew that doesn’t seek to open only the bottle, but to inaugurate the bottle, turning this instant into a ceremony as a solemn moment.Drop has a metallic elongated and conical form. But two orifices are added: the major one in the top totally perpendicular and circular. While the second one is in the bottom perforating the vertical axis of the corkscrew. When we see the object it’s possible to see the simplicity and elegance of a sewing needle. But when we open it we meet two pieces: a conical case and inside the corkscrew. These two pieces relate in all its uses. As corkscrew, the case gets in the circular hole of the corkscrew creating a form of T that allows to uncork the bottle with the force of lever. As a cork, the corkscrew is inserted inside the case, and this one inside the bottle, staying all guarded good, wine and corkscrew/cork. Finally, as a pen: surprising and interesting at the same time, since it uses the own wine to write, a practice for these moments of tablecloth or to draw in the tablecloths of paper of the restaurants.
The corkscrew is an object of an instant, of one ” plop! ” And to drinking. Pero Drop, tries to lengthen this instant and to give him more importance to this object, for this motive it incorporates the writing as part of the ceremony of the wine. An added value that the writing has with the ink of wine, is that according to the wine, the tone of the ink will be different, and every verse, palabro or sketch will be remembered thanks to its ink of wine. The relation between viniculture and literature, is not so far away one of other one. The two are very established in our cultures from the exage, and have perpetrated in the most famous eaten ones of the history. The object of the viniculture is the corkscrew that is equivalent to the pen of the writing.
