PaperBricks is an exploration of as recycles the newspaper of most sustainable ways, by WooJai Lee. The paper is one of the materials most produced and more wasted in the world.Thankfully already there retrains many quantity of paper that we use in ours day after day. Though it is not possible to recycle indefinitely. With every cycle of recycling the fibers diminish and become practically useless for the use that was giving him originally, losing the qualities of the material.
PaperBricks, more than a furniture is a new eco-friendly material.
PaperBricks is done of paper of recycled newspaper. The paper turns into a kind of pulp mixed with glue and the wished form is given it by means of pressure. In this case, it is a question of a form similar to a brick. In fact, it is almost so robust as a brick but with great more lightness.
The result is a robust but light and nice material as the paper. A material with high mechanical properties, simultaneously that sensory and respectful with the environment.
PaperBricks Pallet has been created to show the capacities of this material in the construction of furniture. The series is compueste, at the moment, for a bank and two coffee tables.
WooJai Reads is a designer Korean – New Zealander, nowadays it resides in Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Graduate in 2016 in the same one Design Academy Eindhoven. Since he has demonstrated with PaperBricks and other projects he likes to work with the materiality. He experiments with materials and its secret potentials. A young person designer who commented about his work to us in the Design Week of Milan during Salone del Mobile 2017, and we are sure that we will surprise later on.
