With the aim of respecting the original environment and architecture, the traditional walls composed of earth and straw were preserved, emptying the inside of Can Valls and designing a newly-built extension with L-shape which define and enclose the outdoor garden. This way, 230m2 are distributed into different spaces with varying heights and differing degrees of privacy, according to the need of the new tenant, where a glazed entrance as the junction of the two pieces, giving access to the workshop and the display area.

Once inside Can Valls, white painted walls –which enhance natural lightning and the paintings on display- are intersected among the traditional walls that conserve and remind us the house origins, in the same way the pine and birch beams of the new roof do.

Certain traditional elements are maintained as well, like the little high windows with wooden carpentry that introduce light from above and provide direct views to the clear sky. Furthermore, wooden fragments recovered from the ancient roof are used to create the staircase.
