In 2014 Schmitz Visuelle Kommunikation designed for Gira a sign system, it was created to be used as the corporate identity, therefore all its signs are present Gira´s products and it the company itself. The gira sign system gave to the company a clearer look, where communication is simple and meaningful.
Then, I asked myself is simplifying the same as reducing? And with the Gira sign system an answer is visible, for sure when we simplify we reduce the use of some tools to create, such as colors and lines, but to simplify also means to work deeply in the understanding of communication. The designer should be fully aware of the context, objects and activities done by all the users involved (Owners, workers, clients, …) in order to create an icon with a clear message.

I find that Gira sign system is a project rich of messages, of signs. It reveals the german modern culture by showing us its interests and activities whether they are in their offices or in their homes.
