The Laus Awards have just presented the most important national designs of the last year at its 47th edition. The ceremony took place in Barcelona the last 30th June where four students from IED Barcelona School of Design were awarded in the Students category. Santigo Restrepo, the team formed by Adra Knadill, Ann Hudayarova and Isabella Rood, Sara Ozvaldic and Kateryna Lazareva have won one gold, two silver and one bronze respectively.

The designer and the second year student of Título Superior en Diseño Gráfico, Santiago Restrepo,has wanted to represent the work of Antonio Bonet architect through the ‘Bonet’ project. This is a tribute created from the six colourful posters which communicate the architect’s work. The illustration, almost photographical, combines the typography and the drawing to make known the most important buildings of Bonet in a singular way.

Packaging designed by Kateryna Lazareva for a cosmetic brand.
The former student of Graphic Design from IED Barcelona, Kateryna Lazareva, has created the corporative identity of a new cosmetic brand. The facial cream set creates a complexion. In each product appears one part of a face where they has to be applied. This packaging is a new visual indentity interpretation inside the cosmetic industry.
The design of this IED Barcelona student has been awarded because of its innovative view about the cosmetic’s graphic design.
Female Genital Mutilation
The graphic project designed by the team of Adra Kandil pretends to make aware abour the sense of loss of the women affected by the femenine genital mutilation.
The team of Adra Kandil, student of Diploma IED in Creative Advertising and Branding, is formed by Ann Hudayarova and Isabella Rood, students of Graphic Design Degree. They three together have created a new graphic project to raise awareness about the femenine genital mutilation. This is a design with a great visual and tactile impact to understand the sense of loss of all the women affected by this mutilation.

What the Druk?!
Sara Ozcaldic has created the whole image for a new political party advertising.
The ideology, image and character of a fictitious political party presented through a graphic identity. Sara Ozvaldic, student of the fourth course of Undegraduate Degree in Graphic Design – Motion Graphics, has been awarded for creating a design that shows the values of a transgressor political group which promotes dialogue and also the construction of a new society.
The identity of the project What The Drunk?! is transgressor and represents the isiosyngrasy of the political party.
The projects proposed by the students of IED Barcelona are part of an academical work. The students make free works or final projects applied to real designs. The IED has presented their students to Laus Awards for a number of years, Jonathan Castro, was the winner of Golden Laus Awards 2016.
