Nu, a political nudist identity

Maria Martí Vigil, a student in Graphic Design in Elisava, School of Design and Engineering, Barcelona, has won the award, Laus young talent, with her project Nu. (nude).

Laus, is a competition based on a state level and organized by the association of Graphic Designers and Art Directors (ADG-FAD).

Laus awards open it’s door once again in its 46th edition, this time with a new campaign named, Laus&, with the purpose to launch the awards in an international context and to promote the graphic design and visual communication integrated into our society.

Nu, express the concept of nudity represented through a direct and non-ornamental image.

Nu. is a new political party completely different than the current ones. Nu, opt for a whole political claim about nudism as a lifestyle, liberating the nude body of all social complex.

This project shows the people all the positive aspects of the practice of nudism either for psychological issues or certain social behaviors.

In terms of the aesthetic aspects, Nu. contributes to a refreshing and youth character to the graphical code line, in the political sector with concise and direct messages.  The project takes a different approach to the actual political campaigns, where usually the leaders are the axis for the graphical layout. Nu. replaces the conventional communication for illustrations. The values and the ideology are the real protagonists.

Maria Martí does also a step forward when it comes to the graphical components usually used in the actual parties through different mechanisms such as; textures, materials, compositions text-image and spot and contrast colours. Nevertheless, the most important aspect is the illustrations that are closely related to the theoretical content of the campaign.

Maria Martí Vigil achieves through her project and the graphic image of it to transmit an honest and clear message and at the same time a political party committed to their cause, the nudism.
