Wood House is located in Okazaki, Japan. The well known, surprising and delicate Japanese brand Muji builds this prefabricated house as an exhibition for all the curious. This design becomes the living image of Muji where its products turn the space into an elegant, firm and subtle flight.
Wood House is organized into a seemingly simple two-story box. The ground floor arranges the common areas, the living room, the kitchen, the dining room and the library. The first floor is reserved for the most private environments such as bedrooms, dressing room, studio and services.
The two floors connect with a spectacular double space full of light, joy, creativity and elegance. The staircase appears as a transparent, delicate and light sculpture resting in space. The metal frame, the thin wooden steps and the transparency of the railing dialogue with the huge windows of natural light that surround the atmospheres.
Wood House is an example of how to live with Muji furniture and turn a house into a soft, simple and delicate poem. The white, the metal, the wood and the fun sliding doors that come and go are the elements chosen by the designers to create this beautiful and cozy home.
Wood House is a spectacular journey into a simple, careful and creative design. Leaning on the porch railing, the sunset landscape is blurred inside by the windows. This showroom has undoubtedly demonstrated Muji’s success.
